17. Parks and Recreation – “Greg Pikitis”

Parks and Recreation got off to a shaky start in its first season but it really hit its stride in its sophomore run. “Greg Pikitis,” is a ridiculous episode that highlights just how wacky Pawnee is with the Parks department getting terrorized by a teenager every Halloween. Leslie is adamant that she’ll be able to thwart him but somehow he still manages to break in and destroy the office. The only problem? She’s been tailing the kid all night alongside her cop boyfriend played by Louis C.K.. Still, she’s convinced it’s him and pulls in Andy to play an F.B.I. agent intent on intimidating the young boy into confessing. However, his mother ends up bailing him out and threatening all three of them which leaves the group to question their actions. Luckily, Andy suggest they teepee Greg’s house which leads them to discover that the kid hires fake moms on “Craiglist” when he needs to get out of trouble. Seriously, this is the smartest teenage rebel on modern television. Leslie does manage to catch him in the act, but ultimately everything gets destroyed.

Meanwhile, the rest of the gang is at Ann’s Halloween party which is a total dud. Even April is depressed about attending because Ann won’t let her drink and there are no Jonas Brothers making out with Robert Pattinsons. Yet, Tom and his (fake) wife show up to liven things up and end up making the party a total hit. One of the best episodes of the series, “Greg Pikitis” showcased the early potential that the show had.
