15. Brooklyn Nine-Nine  – “Halloween”

The episode that started a yearly tradition, “Halloween” was the beginning of the infamous Brooklyn Nine-Nine heist. Unlike the most recent episodes that saw the precinct competing for the same object, this one focuses on Jake trying to steal a Medal of Valor from Holt. The whole thing starts when Jake talks about how dumb criminals are and how he would like a new challenge. At first it seems like Jake can’t catch a break, after being caught by Holt multiple times during his attempts to get into the safe. However, at the end he reveals that those were just diversion tactics meant to keep Holt distracted while Rosa and Boyle worked. Honestly, Rosa is so impressive on this show and she rarely gets enough credit for her feats.

Amy gets the short end of the stick in “Halloween” because she hast to spend the episode complaining about the holiday. By the end she does admit that she’s been a poor sport and apologizes to her friend but it’s still sad to not see her take an active role in the heist. Not to worry Amy fans, your can see her outsmart everyone in the later heist episodes.  Luckily, this episode gave way to an amazing tradition therefore it makes it onto the list. Not to mention, it’s always funny to see Boyle dress up in a ridiculous costume only to have the entire squad make fun of him. And who doesn’t want to see Jake get called an “amazing detective/genius” by the usually stoic Holt?
