20 New TV Shows To Look Forward To In 2018

5. The Terror (AMC) – March 26 

This AMC show gained a lot of attention when it was announced that Ridley Scott would be producing the series. Scott typically helms buzzy science fiction films and psychological thrillers, but The Terror looks like his first foray into horror. While that would be worrisome for most directors/producers, the first look at the series makes it look incredible.

Not to mention, Ridley Scott has shown his ability to jump into different genres, like CBS’s BrainDead, that the series will most likely be a hit. The first trailer for the AMC series looks like it will live up to its name by inducing some extreme nightmares in viewers who dare to watch. Based off of a book by the same name by Dan Simmons, The Terror is sure to scare up some love from genre fans.

Jared Harris from Mad Men is Captain Francis Crozier, in charge of the ship after his commander dies. Tobias Menzies will play his second in command: Commander James Fitzjames, while Ciaran Hinds plays the deceased captain: Sir James Franklin. The faint of heart will probably have to skip over The Terror based on how terrifying the trailer already is. However, those who can brave the thrilling series will be treated to one of best new series of 2018.

Ridley Scott isn’t going to have his name attached to something that isn’t excellent, so expect this new AMC show to be a knockout critically. In the meantime, catch up on some other Scott movies while waiting until the end of March.
