20 New TV Shows To Look Forward To In 2018
14. Here And Now (HBO) – February 11
When Here And Now was initially announced, it seemed like HBO was going for their own This Is Us. However, the series is quickly becoming its own unique show just based off of the small teasers that have been leaked. The story about a multi-racial family navigating their lives and relationships is about as similar as the HBO series will get to the beloved NBC show.
Turns out, there’s going to be a dark or maybe supernatural twist to the entire show. There’s nothing that makes or breaks a family like something beyond one’s control that intervenes in everyone’s lives. Watching the sibling and parental bonds play out over the course of the season will undoubtedly cause a lot of tears to be shed and tissues to be used.
The family comprised of a lawyer, her husband the philosophy professor, their one biological child, and their three adopted children run into some problems when one of the kids starts claiming that “something” is trying to communicate with him.
Tim Robbins (from Mystic River) and Holly Hunter (the lead on Saving Grace) are the patriarch and matriarch of the family. They’ll have to navigate their complicated family lives while trying to make a decision about one of their kid’s mental health.
The kids are played by an equally talented cast of actors: Jerrika Hinton (Grey’s Anatomy), Raymond Lee (Mozart In The Jungle), Daniel Zovatto (Fear the Walking Dead), and Sosie Bacon (13 Reasons Why). HBO has always excelled when producing family dramas which all but guarantees that Here And Now will be a hit in 2018.
