5. Xena: Warrior Princess / Hercules: The Legendary Journeys

Another combination on this list takes the two medieval fantasy TV series from the ’90s that presented one of the fiercest female warriors in TV history. It all started with Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, where Kevin Sorbo starred as the demigod Hercules as he went through adventures and was always at odds with his stepmother Hera, and later his half-brother Ares, the God of War.

Hercules: The Legendary Journeys was very popular and lasted for six seasons, with 111 episodes before going into syndication. The Sam Raimi (Evil Dead) produced series also spawned five television movies and a spin-off with one of its most popular guest characters – Xena: Warrior Princess.

Xena: Warrior Princess was a quick spin-off, coming just eight months after Hercules: The Legendary Journeys premiered and ended up even more popular. Lucy Lawless starred as Xena, a warrior out to seek redemption for past sins. It also featured a fun cast of characters, including Ted Raimi as Joxer and Bruce Campbell as Autolycus, King of Thieves.

Xena: Warrior Princess matched Hercules, with six seasons but had more episodes, finishing at 134.
