Anthony Hopkins did an amazing job portraying Thor’s father, Odin, in the Marvel films and it seems unfair that his time has come to an end. However, the films left enough of a story open for a television series to follow the rise of Odin in Asgard.

Specifically, Thor: Ragnorak hints at his crusade through the various realms to become the respected leader everywhere. If the right streaming network or premium channel could get their hands on the rights to Odin, then Anthony Hopkins could continue the legend. Also, it would be great to see Cate Blanchett as Hela before she was just the villainous daughter. Now, viewers would be treated to the complex father/daughter relationship as the two tore apart worlds for their taking.

Having an Odin television series would be a no-brainer for Marvel if they could get the cast members to sign on. With the current movie phase coming to a close, the movie franchises for Thor, Iron Man, and Captain America are all in jeopardy, fans would be excited to spend more time in any of the established universes.

Asgard would make the perfect location to continue the exploration of their history because the world is already so beautiful. Plus, it would be so entertaining to eventually see Odin transform from ruthless war hero to patient father when raising his two sons. With the introduction of the Valkyries in the most recent Thor movie, it would also allow for their epic adventures to be documented before they’re wiped out by Hela.
