Sure, people love to see big new movie trailers during the Super Bowl, but the best one this year wasn’t even a trailer for a real movie. The trailer for the movie Dundee, the sequel to Crocodile Dundee was, in fact, a Super Bowl commercial for the Australian tourism board.

This commercial got a lot of press when a leaked version hit online last month and people actually thought Danny McBride had made a new sequel to Crocodile Dundee, and a lot of people were angry about it. That made the fact that it was a gag even funnier based on how silly the angry people became when it was all just a joke.

So, the theme is simple. Danny McBride stars as Brian, the son of the legendary Crocodile Dundee and heads to Australia to make his name and try to live up to the exploits of his dad. He meets up with Chris Hemsworth and the two start to head out for adventures, which turns into an ad for how beautiful Australia is.

When McBride realizes he is not in a movie but is in an ad, he feels bad so Hemsworth tells him that he is the best Dundee since the original, which gives Paul Hogan a cameo to disagree.

To add to the fun, there is an extended cut of the ad with Hugh Jackman, Margot Robbie, Russell Crowe, Isla Fisher, Ruby Rose, Liam Hemsworth, Jessica Mauboy and Luke Bracey appearing with Danny McBride as well.
