The 10 Best Super Bowl Commercials From 2018
By Shawn Lealos
4. Budweiser
Every year, Budweiser has a Super Bowl commercial that is never about their beer but it meant to touch the hearts of viewers. In past years, the most touching ones included dogs and the Clydesdales. This year, Budweiser kept the Clydesdales in the barn and instead touched upon something from the real-world, something to remind people of what Budweiser did to help people in need.
The ad starts off with a man in bed when his phone rings. He answers it and responds that he is on his way. As he is driving, you hear the radio announcer say that the storms are affecting thousands of families, bringing to memory the devastating hurricanes that struck America in 2017. This man is not a rescue worker, though. He runs a Budweiser distribution plant.
The Super Bowl commercial then shows the man shutting down the plant and then making a change. The beer cans are removed and water cans replace them on the assembly line. The beer taps are replaced by clean water lines and the plant starts to pump out water for the rescue efforts.
We then see Florida, Texas, Puerto Rico and California while the song “Stand By Me” plays, as the text reads that when people need them, Budweiser will stand by them. According to reports, Budweiser has donated 79 million cans of drinking water over the last 30 years to any area of the world that goes through a crisis.
