3. Gus Fring

What started out as a guest starring gig quickly spiraled into one of the most popular villains of all time: Gus Fring. Breaking Bad is littered with bad guys including the series main character, Walter White. However, Gus is different because he’s not just an amateur meth cooker, but instead, he’s a crafty businessman too.

Extremely polite and well-educated, Gus is usually overlooked because he seems like an upstanding man. This allows him to easily sneak in and steal the meth business for himself to become the new drug kingpin. Gus is unlike any other criminal on the show, he’s professional and easily hidden so well that when he finally embodies his cold villainous side, it shocks Walter.

Not to mention, it’s impossible to forget just how easy it was for Gus to manipulate Walter into cooking meth for him by using his responsibilities as a father against him.

Throughout the series run, Fring is shown to become increasingly more competent as the boss. He manages to get Walter’s recipe right out from under his nose and brutally sacrifices one of his loyal henchmen when he’s noticed at the scene of a murder committed by Jesse.

He is scarily proficient at navigating the criminal underworld, making the cutthroat decision of who to sacrifice and when. With the Cartel constantly breathing down his neck, he manages to get the support of the DEA by anonymously saving one of their agents from an attack he orchestrated. It’s hard to not find a reason for Gus Fring to be on the list of best villains when he manages to succeed in every single act of evil he commits.
