Netflix released another trailer in preparation for the upcoming return of Jessica Jones.

While it doesn’t offer up a lot of new footage, it does give viewers a look back at the first season and an irate Jessica attending an anger management group. What trouble has New York’s finest private eye gotten into this time?  By the looks of the new Jessica Jones trailer, her past is directly involved with causing problems in the present.

Early photos for Jessica Jones season two tease Jessica’s arrest. Since she seems incredibly frustrated attending the anger management meeting, this could be part of her sentencing or a plea deal to keep her out of jail. Whatever the reason, someone is definitely making her go to the meetings, because there’s no way Jessica would ever do something she doesn’t want to.

Which would explain why she would be following the competition and taking photos. In the previous Jessica Jones trailer, a rival private eye is looking to buy Alias Investigations which she steadfastly refuses. This time around, she can be seen taking pictures of the man meeting with two different clients, one of which looks like the mysterious new character played by Janet McTeer. Season 2 of Jessica Jones is supposed to focus a bit on the mystery surrounding IGH, as he could be working for the company and hoping to throw her off their trail.

Speaking of IGH, there’s no sign of Simpson in this Jessica Jones trailer despite his set up as the villain “Nuke” last season. While many fans predicted Jessica Jones would also use him as a replacement to Trish’s abusive husband from the comics, Buzz Baxter, it doesn’t look like that’s the case. Jessica can be seen slamming a man’s head into a bathroom window with Trish looking on from the ground. The biggest clue that this takes place sometime in the past is the different haircut (which looks like a wig) with Trish sporting a set of bangs. While the series hasn’t explored much of their backstory, it would make sense to see more of their history throughout this season.

For the most part, Netflix has kept the details of this upcoming season under wraps. However, the combination of the recent trailers shows that the second season of Jessica Jones will be heavily influenced by her past traumas. Interestingly enough, Leah Gibson’s character has yet to make an appearance in either trailer, only adding to the mystery. It looks like the streaming service has no intention of giving anything substantial away until the series makes its return on March 8.
