Sneaky Pete season 2: What you need to know

As Amazon Original series Sneaky Pete gears up for season 2, there’s a lot of exciting news to know and digest before watching the premiere on March 9.

First of all, this is where we left off at the end of Sneaky Pete season 1. Marius (Giovanni Ribisi) manages to escape Vince’s (Bryan Cranston) wrath through a double-fake long con. Vince gets arrested, not before losing a thumb to crack the barometric lock on his safe.

Julia (Marin Ireland) ends up in a deal with Dockery (Chaske Spencer) to launder money for him – before Marius comes back with the money he took from him. The Bernhardts still don’t know he isn’t Pete. Before he can drop the con, however, some gangsters mistake him for Pete. They threaten the family unless he delivers Pete’s estranged mother and the $11 million dollars she stole. So Marius is still stuck being Pete.

News for Sneaky Pete season 2

Since Vince is out of the picture, there’s no immediate reason for Bryan Cranston to return to the series as anything but the producer. There’s no news implying he might, but a surprise cameo is never out of the question. However, Deadline reports the addition of John Ales as the enigmatic Luka Delchev, who seems to have a brutal criminal history.

Sara Tomko, Chris Ashworth, and Justine Lupe are also set to join the cast. Tomko will play a casino manager, Ashworth is Luka’s main muscle, and Lupe is Colin’s girlfriend. Sneaky Pete season 2 also features Jane Adams as Maggie Murphy, Pete’s estranged mom.

If the new Sneaky Pete trailer is anything to go by, the stakes are definitely going to be higher in season 2.

Not only does Marius have to maintain the Pete con with the Bernhardts, but he has to protect them at the same time as trying to keep the money for himself. It also appears that the real Pete somehow escapes from prison and gets in on the game.

Here is the full Sneaky Pete season 2 synopsis:

"In the new season, Marius is on the verge of starting fresh, when two thugs, believing he is Pete, threaten to kill the family unless he takes them to Pete’s estranged mother Maggie (Jane Adams, Twin Peaks) and the millions she stole from their mysterious employer. Now Marius must tread a dangerous line to find the elusive Maggie, protect the family, and keep up the Pete con, all while finagling a way to ditch the thugs and keep the money for himself."
