The Baudelaire children are still at the mercy of Count Olaf — and he shows no signs of stopping on A Series of Unfortunate Events second season.

Netflix’s A Series of Unfortunate Events released its first new trailer — and we cannot wait. The poor Baudelaire children cannot catch a break from Count Olaf (Neil Patrick Harris), and the second season builds on his reign of terror over the unfortunate orphans.

As he says in the season two trailer, “I won’t be satisfied with just your fortune. I will obliterate you in the cruelest way possible!” Oh boy, this can’t be good.

The sad story of the Baudelaire orphans, Violet (Malina Weissman), Klaus (Louis Hynes), and Sunny (Presley Smith) follows their string of bad luck after the death of their parents. Who might be responsible for their misfortunes? Count Olaf, of course! And based on the season two trailer, he is just getting started.

In the trailer above, we see the Baudelaire orphans are still searching for a place to call home. They are moved from a boarding school to a frightening hospital to a death-defying carnival, and that is just the beginning. And following closely behind is Count Olaf.

Luckily, the orphans will strike a friendship with a family of two orphans, the Quagmires, who share a connection with the Baudelaires — season one’s VFD mystery involving the Baudelaires’ parents. Will the Baudelaires’ learn what their parents were involved in and perhaps the reason for their unfortunate luck? We sure hope so!

Season two of A Series of Unfortunate Events promises to give us more comedy, more darkness, and more sorrow for the poor Baudelaire orphans. And while they grapple with the dark cloud that is Count Olaf, the mystery surrounding their parents appears to be the epicenter of season two’s plot.

The cast will get bigger this season (and perhaps, more frightening for those poor orphans). Season two will bring Lucy Punch, Nathan Fillion, Tony Hale, Robbie Amell, Sara Rue, Roger Bart, and David Alan Grier.

Season two of A Series of Unfortunate will be available for streaming on Netflix on March 30.
