Episode Three

Frustrations with the state of the immigration policies in England are clearly vented in this episode. David Mars decries a system that doesn’t treat immigrants as human beings and doesn’t fulfill its legal obligations to those human beings. He’s tired of England’s “crass xenophobia.” On the other side of the fence are people like Sam and Nathan, who are resentful of immigrants and suspicious of their motivations for moving to England.

Westbourne calls his henchmen for a meeting. They paid Laurie £1000 to send Abdullah to the kill site but killed her when it looked like she might talk. There are still a few loose ends, and Westbourne is suspicious of Burna, who turns out to be Sam’s undercover agent for MI-5.

Meanwhile, Glaspie and Nathan investigate Laurie’s murder scene, agreeing that the murder is probably connected but committed by different people. It also looks like someone is leaking misinformation to the media to discredit the victim.

Glaspie goes to see Fatima alone, offering her citizenship she cannot guarantee in exchange for everything she knows. Glaspie is taking a risk based on a hunch, hoping she can keep her promise.

They raid the hotel where Fatima was working to retrieve her cell phone. It has footage on it of a mutiny on the way from Turkey to London and who was involved.

Sandrine struggles with her guilt and anger, meeting with Westbourne who turns out to be a family friend. Sandrine was told that Abdullah was a terrorist and believes she was protecting her country by killing him.
