Episode Four

Based on the footage on Fatima’s phone, Glaspie identifies and arrests Westbourne’s henchmen and Burna. Meanwhile, Glaspie confirms that Sam Spence is feeding misinformation to the press to cover his agent’s involvement. Glaspie offers to trade Burna to Sam in exchange for citizenship for Fatima and Mona.

Sam tries to call her bluff but agrees to her terms in the end. Burna reveals that Westbourne runs the smuggling ring and that Sandrine was the assassin. Westbourne escapes before they can find him.

Sandrine confronts her CO’s wife with the fact that her husband is a rapist. The wife is reluctant but believes her in the end. Sandrine steals their car and drives to a hotel she used to visit with her father.

She writes what appears to be a suicide note. Glaspie tries to talk her down from outside her room but makes the mistake of revealing that Abdullah wasn’t a terrorist. Sandrine shoots herself before Glaspie can make it through the door.

While Glaspie makes some smart moves to close the case, a lot of her risks and mistakes come back to haunt her. She makes promises she has no authority to make and no guarantee she can keep.

And while she clearly overreaches her authority, she turns out to be more capable than the men she works with have given her credit for. David escapes his indecision, holds Karen responsible for herself and drops the Labour party. Jane chooses the priesthood over Linh.
