Riverdale – “Primary Colors”

"A HOUSE DIVIDED — In the aftermath of Hiram’s (Mark Consuelos) newly announced plans for Riverdale, Jughead (Cole Sprouse) resorts to drastic measures to voice his opposition. After making her own big announcement, Hermoine’s (Marisol Nichols) friend Andy Cohen (guest star Andy Cohen) comes to town to lend a hand. Meanwhile, Veronica (Camila Mendes) goes against her parent’s wishes to keep a low profile when she decides to run for student council president. Elsewhere, Mary (guest star Molly Ringwald) arrives in Riverdale just as tensions between Fred (Luke Perry) and Archie (KJ Apa) reach a breaking point. Finally, following a series of mysterious events, Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) begins to fear that someone is out to get her."

The synopsis for this week’s Riverdale is twice as long as anyone else’s, which isn’t a good thing. There are too many storylines this season and each one isn’t getting enough screen time.

“Primary Colors” looks like it’s going to ramp up the tension between “Bughead” and “Varchie” with the two clashing in a presidential election.

Hopefully, the arrival of Mary will finally convince Archie to stop with his weird descent into villainy and coax him back from the dark side.

Gotham – “The Shining Ship The Grand Applause”

"Bullock and Gordon try to track down someone who is key in Sofia’s control over Gotham. Meanwhile, Penguin, Lee and Nygma enlist an unlikely ally as they seek revenge, and Selina asks Bruce for a favor to help rid her of her guilt over Ivy."

It’s hard to imagine Sofia Falcone will survive this season of Gotham based on the actions she’s taken throughout the season. But the sneak peek definitely makes it clear that the pressure is ramping up for the mob boss.

Crystal Reed has been great all season and here’s hoping she doesn’t get to just slink off into the darkness. The Penguin, Lee, and Nygma storyline has a lot of potential as long as the writers don’t try to make it into a twisted love triangle of sorts.
