With season 8 of The Walking Dead drawing to a close, AMC has been eager to get the ball rolling for the latest season of Fear the Walking Dead.

With the Fear the Walking Dead premiere just a few weeks away, AMC has just released a new extended teaser trailer for the upcoming season.

The new Fear the Walking Dead trailer doesn’t show much about what lies ahead for the show plot wise but that’s not to say there isn’t anything worthwhile about it.

It opens with what appears to be a slight homage to Zombieland, with Alicia and new character Naomi (Jenna Elfman) casually wandering around an abandoned water park.

Besides the nod to Zombieland, the trailer makes a point of showing the season’s newest cast members, even going to so far as to have one of the recent additions say “New people, I like new people.”

Not exactly what you would call subtle but these new characters are at least intriguing.

The Fear the Walking Dead trailer highlights several new additions to the show’s cast.  New members of the main cast include the aforementioned Elfman as Naomi, Maggie Grace (Taken) as Althea, Garret Dillahunt as John Dorie and of course Lennie James as Morgan from the main show.

Unsurprisingly, the trailer also places a fairly heavy emphasis on the addition of Morgan even including a couple scenes to show off his skills with a staff including a particularly humorous where he rather effortlessly beats up Nick.

Season four of Fear the Walking Dead will premiere immediately following The Walking Dead season 8 finale on April 15. There is also a theatrical screening planned for the Walking Dead finale and Fear the Walking Dead premiere.
