Sissy Spacek joins the cast of Amazon’s Homecoming

Sissy Spacek will star in Julia Robert’s Amazon series, Homecoming.
The cast of Amazon’s Homecoming continues to grow with the latest addition of Sissy Spacek. Spacek will join the stellar cast in a recurring role as the mother of Julia Robert’s character.
She will play a woman by the name of Ellen Bergman who is fierce, sassy, and extremely protective of her daughter Heidi, played by Roberts. In addition to Spacek and Roberts, the series also stars Bobby Cannavale, Stephan James, and Dermot Mulroney.

Homecoming is a psychological thriller that will revolve around a caseworker that works at a facility that treats veterans. The series is based on a famous podcast from Gimlet Media.
If you can’t recall what other shows and movies you have seen Spacek in, allow us to jog your memory. Most recently, she has worked on Netflix’s Bloodline as the matriarch of the Rayburn family. And most famously, of course, she is known for her role in the film adaptation of the Stephen King novel, Carrie.
She will be seen in an upcoming film called Old Man and The Gun and the Hulu series, Castle Rock.
Homecoming is an Amazon Studios production and is being written/executive produced by Eli Horowitz and Micah Bloomberg, creators of the podcast it is based on. It will be directed by Mr. Robot’s Sam Esmail (yes, so much yes!).
Roberts will star as well take on the role of executive producer for the series via her production company.
