Ryan Murphy’s Pose finally gets a premiere date–and we can’t wait!

Every time Ryan Murphy premieres a new show the world is on the edge of its seat, right? After quite some time, there is finally exciting news regarding his latest FX series, Pose. It is a new dance musical series that will have the largest transgender cast in series regular roles and the largest LGBTQ cast for a scripted series. Way to go, Ryan Murphy!

Pose is co-created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Steven Canals. Alongside them is a group of extremely talented executive producers including Nina Jacobsen, Brad Simpson, Alexis Martin Woodall, and Sherry Marsh. The series will consist of eight episodes and we will see Murphy favorite Evan Peters co-star along with Kata Mara and James Van Der Beek.

Pose is set in the 1980s/ and explores different aspects of New York society including the ball culture, Trump’s ascent to luxury living, and the New York downtown scene and its literary inhabitants. Peters and Mara will be playing a couple from New Jersey named Stan and Patty who find themselves caught up in the New York City lifestyle. Van Der Beek will play the role of a financial kingpin boss named Matt.

As mentioned before, Pose is shattering records for having the largest transgender cast in series regular roles along with the largest LGBTQ cast ever. The transgender cast consists of Mj Rodriguez, Dominque Jackson, Indya Moore, Hailie Sahar, and Angelica Ross. Co-starring with them is Tony Award Winner Billy Porter, Charlayne Woodard, and a newcomers Ryan Jamaal Swain and Dyllon Burnside.

This show is sure to be a treat as it dives into a world many others have not even attempted to explore. And since it is a Ryan Murphy show, we know it’s going to be one for the books.

Pose premieres on June 3 at 9/8c on FX!
