By Wade Wainio
Fans of Netflix’ Lost in Space can rejoice. The epic sci-fi drama has been renewed for a second season!
Though details on season 2 are scarce, it does mean the show was successful. In fact, according to the ratings, gods at Nielsen, the Lost in Space premiere was in 3rd place for highest rated Netflix series (just a few notches behind Stranger Things season 2, which was a huge hit). Legendary Television and Netflix have plenty to work with here.

Why Fans Will Surely Return
Fans will see Molly Parker take charge again as Maureen Robinson. We’ll see her gruff-talking husband John (Toby Stephens), as well as their kids, Will (Maxwell Jenkins), Judy (Taylor Russell) and Penny Robinson (Mina Sundwall). Of course, we’ll likely also have June Harris (Parker Posey) as the main villain, and Don West (Ignacio Serricchio) as the impromptu astronaut/alcohol smuggler/ chicken-keeper.
Season one also supplied us with moody alien robots, fuel-eating eels, giant reptiles, ferocious cave bats, earthquakes, black hole suns and Debbie the chicken. It will be hard to top all of that! After all, how can you up the stakes beyond being stranded on a dying planet? In any case, it made for a quirky yet oddly believable TV show, and viewers are likely to return.

While the remake was met with mostly positive reactions, quite a few fans had problems with certain aspects. The biggest flaw during the first season of Lost in Space was the underdeveloped villain. Almost everyone was frustrated with Posey’s June Harris and hopefully, the show does a better job with her character in the next season.
