Is there a new episode of Killing Eve on BBC America tonight?
Before Killing Eve even debuted, the network handed it an early season two renewal. It was a show of confidence for the series, but it seems to have paid off. The series wrapped its first season last week, but it broke ratings records throughout those eight episodes.
In a press release from BBC America, the network revealed the show saw unprecedented growth on an episode-to-episode basis.
"The finale delivered series highs with 1.25 million viewers in Nielsen live+3 ratings, up 86 percent from premiere, with 545,000 adults 25-54 and 378,000 adults 18-49, up 127 percent and 100 percent from premiere, respectively. The season finale was also the #1 most social drama of the day."

They also pointed out, it was the only show to see its weekly numbers increase with every episode. In a time when cable television has seen a slip in ratings across the board, this is a truly accomplished feat. Sandra Oh, one of the stars and producers, was ecstatic to see the show’s strength in the Nielsen numbers.
"“It’s so fantastic that in this TV age of binge watching and being inundated with so much content that Killing Eve fans have grown the audience the tried and true way of word of mouth and are watching it weekly. Watching how it’s grown so organically, the old school way – is extremely satisfying. I thank our fun and twisted audience.”"
However, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Killing Eve became an overnight hit this year. The show had everything going for it: great acting, writing, and directing. In fact, it would be more shocking if fans didn’t tune in to see this fantastic series.
As impressive as the live ratings are, scoring high on social media platforms is becoming more important. The way people watch television has been slowly changing and cultivating a passionate online fan base is vital. Jodie Comer, the other star of Killing Eve, happily thanked fans for their avid support on Twitter.

With Killing Eve in contention as the best new show of the year, when can viewers expect it to return? Considering the series only aired its first season finale last week, there might be a wait before the next episode. Thankfully, it’s already been renewed so fans will get to see more of Villanelle’s and Eve’s twisted relationship.
