The latest Shonda Rhimes series will center around a con artist who is now in prison.

It looks like Shonda Rhimes is moving forward with her first series idea for Netflix.

According to Deadline, Shondaland and Netflix bought the rights to a New York Magazine article that illustrates how Anna Delvey, the former “it” girl, lied and scammed her way into New York society. Claiming to be a German heiress, Delvey, whose real name is Anna Sorokin, is accused of scamming money from banks businesses, and friends.

Sorokin is currently behind bars on Rikers Island but pleaded not guilty to charges of larceny and theft of services.

If you’re a fan of Rhimes, you know her bread and butter is strong female characters. As someone who has stuck with Grey’s Anatomy after multiple occasions of swearing it off (I’m looking at you McDreamy’s death!), I can’t wait to see what the Queen of TV has planned for Netflix.

Rhimes left ABC and inked a five-year deal to develop series for Netflix last August. Ever since she spends her time meeting with writers to work on ideas. She could bring in more than $300 million by the end of her deal. Glee creator, Ryan Murphy, also joined Netflix earlier this year.

Rhimes is best known for shows like Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, and How to Get Away with Murder. Each show is a massive hit and brought multiple awards and accolades, as well as legions of fans.

I’m interested to see what a Shondaland show will look like on Netflix. She is known for pushing the envelope when it comes to difficult storylines, strong language, and sex scenes. In fact, I just found out that on-call rooms are used for actual sleep and not sleeping with coworkers.

Any show with Shonda’s name attached will be fantastic, so I’m looking forward to what she brings to Netflix.
