Netflix’s The Crown adds The Exorcist star for Season 3
The third season of Netflix original drama ‘The Crown’ will feature British actor Ben Daniels as photographer and husband to Princess Margaret, Antony Armstrong-Jones, according to Deadline.
Armstrong-Jones was played by Matthew Goode in the first two seasons of the series.
As the show moves forward in history with season 3, it is replacing the actors who have portrayed the show’s major characters in order to ensure a realistic depiction as they age.

Daniels will be working opposite Helena Bonham Carter who has already been confirmed for Princess Margaret. She’ll take over the role from Vanessa Kirby. Margaret married Armstrong-Jones towards the end of the series’ second season.
Other actors joining the cast in the third season in noteworthy roles include: Olivia Colman replacing Claire Foy as Queen Elizabeth II and Tobias Menzies replacing Matt Smith as Prince Philip.
The new season will cover the 1960s starting in 1963. This will give the show the opportunity to depict events like the seismic cultural shift brought on by the Beatles and introduce new characters like Camilla Parker Bowles.
The 1960s were eventful for Princess Margaret and the Earl of Snowdon. They had two children but their reckless tendencies endangered their marriage.
Daniels starred in The Exorcist as Father Marcus Keane. He also recently appeared as Pontius Pilate in NBC’s musical Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert and General Merrick in the movie Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

About taking on the role of Armstrong-Jones, Daniels said:

The third season of The Crown will hit the streaming service in 2019.
