Co-creator Kurt Sutter had some exciting news for fans of Sons of Anarchy who were eager to learn whether or not Mayans MC would ever connect the storylines between the two. Yes, it will–eventually.
"“Right now there is no intersecting stories but Sons in a big world. We’ll see those points of intersection this season and throughout the series as well.”"
Sutter also said that both shows exist in the same world and Mayans MC will pick up a little bit after where the SOA finale ended.
Also, a part of Sunday’s panel were Elgin James, EP/director Norberto Barba, SOA alum Emilio Rivera, J. D. Pardo, Edward James Olmos, Clayton Cardenas, Sarah Bolger, Michael Irby, Carla Baratta, Antonio Jaramillo, Raoul Max Trujillo, Richard Cabral, Danny Pino, Frankie Loyal, Joseph Lucero, and Vincent “Rocco” Vargas.
Fans in attendance got a sneak peek at the Mayans MC pilot–about 15 minutes worth! And while the tone of the pilot so far is very much like SOA, it’s safe to say the new series has a voice and tone unique to the story it wants to tell.
