Fans rejoice! Millie Bobby Brown wants a Jopper romance as much as we do on Stranger Things!

Stranger Things is working hard on season 3 production, and while there is still a bit of a wait until it returns, we have plenty to hold us over until then. In a recent interview with Variety, star Millie Bobby Brown, who plays the iconic role of Eleven, spoke about her hopes for a romance between Joyce and Hopper aka Jopper and how, under the right circumstances, she hopes Eleven loses her powers.

The world fell in love with the cast of Stranger Things the minute season 1 premiered and from the get-go, we started shipping Sheriff Hopper (David Harbour) and Joyce (Winona Ryder). And it seems like we are not the only ones. Millie Bobby Brown is in agreement with this love story and says she finds inspiration from the two of them together.

More from Netflix

"“Winona Ryder and David Harbour are like my parents. On set, they’re like, ‘Stop running, what are you eating, why are you eating that?’ David is like, ‘Another boy?’ And in the show, if they rekindle, that means Will and Eleven will be step-siblings. I would love that because Noah [Schnapp] is my boy best friend.”"

What makes this relationship even more desirable is the first season reveal that the two characters dated in the past but had parted ways romantically since then. Even Harbour would like to see the two characters come together and believe “they’re built for each other”.

Brown also spoke about Eleven’s powers on Stranger Things and feels that at some point she should sacrifice herself by letting go of her powers in some way. Because the character is known for her powers, she wants to see those powers stripped away slowly to uncover a different side to the character. Perhaps season 3 will bring these changes Brown is hoping for as Eleven tries to embrace normalcy in her life.

Cast and creators have alluded that the third season is really heavy on references from 80’s films and have suggested fans go watch these iconic movies to get an understanding of what season 3 will be like. Harbour didn’t give away much information but stated:

"“We’re experimenting a lot this season, and we’re taking risks, and I hope that they pay off but they are risks. We’re going into territories we’ve never been to before, and it’s exciting.”"

We can get on board with that, can’t we?

Stranger Things does not yet have a premiere date but is looking for a 2019 release (which can’t come soon enough!).
