NYCC Nightflyers: SyFy offering fans a chance to see all of new George R.R. Martin series at once

George R.R. Martin has one more season left of Game of Thrones but first, his sci-fi series Nightflyers will hit the SYFY Network.
When the SYFY Network released the last two seasons of 12 Monkeys over a short amount of weekends, it seemed it was dumping the critically acclaimed, groundbreaking series.
However, that might have been a test for a new way to release television and they are taking it up a notch for Martin’s Nightflyers.
At the NYCC this weekend, SYFY announced that they will drop the entire first season of Nightflyers on Dec. 2 across all its platforms.
At one time, this could have been seen like a network dumping a show, but it is actually the new way of releasing television shows. Netflix does the same thing with all its new releases so this is no different — just on a basic television network.
Fans will be able to watch Nightflyers on the SYFY channel, SYFY On-Demand, on the internet at SYFY.com and through the SYFY app.
When it comes to watching it on live television, the first five episodes will air on SYFY on Dec. 2 through Dec. 8 at 10 p.m. EST and then the next five from Dec. 9 through Dec. 13 at 10 p.m. EST with limited commercial interruptions.
The world premiere screening of the Nightflyers pilot episode was also shown at the NYCC.
While fans have got to see George R.R. Martin’s genius at work in medieval times, Nightflyers gives them a chance to see what he can do in the future.
Nightflyers takes place in 2093 on board The Nightflyer. The cast is a team of scientists aboard the most advanced ship ever built as they set out to find new life forms. However, the horror is not the unknown of outer space but something aboard their own ship.
Eoin Macken, David Ajala, Gretchen Mol, Jodie Turner-Smith, Angus Sampson, Sam Strike, Maya Eshet, and Brían F. O’Byrne star in the SYFY series.
