Lionsgate is considering doing an Orange Is The New Black sequel–and we are freaking out!

Orange Is The New Black gave us one hell of a sixth season and left us with so many questions as we eagerly await the seventh and final season. However, it may not be the last we hear of the story as Lionsgate is seriously considering doing a sequel.

The Lionsgate Television Group Chairman, Kevin Beggs, recently revealed that they are thinking of ways to keep Orange Is The New Black going. According to him, they are waiting for the right time and then once it feels right to do so, they will speak with series creator Jenji Kohan about a sequel.

Last month, the cast announced that season 7 would be the last one for the series, and while it broke so many hearts all over the world, we understand that all good things must come to an end–or get a potential sequel.

Although Orange Is The New Black has come to an end on Netflix, Kohan is still signed on for a multi-year deal. When the final season was announced, Kohan made a joke regarding it, “after seven seasons, it’s time to be released from prison.”

If there is indeed a sequel to the series, we have so many questions about who would be in it, what story will it tell, if there will be completely new characters and if it still follow Litchfield prisoners. Given the connection fans have made to Orange Is The New Black and all of its characters, it’s hard to imagine a version without any of them.
