Chilling Adventures of Sabrina gets a Netflix holiday special
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is getting into the holiday spirit.
The hit Netflix show will be returning a little earlier than expected with a special holiday episode on the streaming service. Deadline reports Chilling Adventures of Sabrina will debut “A Midwinter’s Tale” on December 14 just in time for the holidays. Considering the Archie Comics series debuted to immense popularity, there’s no surprise Netflix would want to get new content on their service for fans.
“A Midwinter’s Tale” is going to revolve around the Church of Night’s traditional winter solstice celebration. Considering this is Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, there’s probably something a bit dark going on. The logline says the witches and warlocks gather their families around a yule fire where they “sing pagan carols and tell ghost stories”. Of course, Netflix teased some unwelcome visitors could be stopping by during the celebrations to cause a bit of chaos.
Netflix released a short video called “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Netflix” to tease some of their holiday-related content. Fans will be able to see some of the footage from the upcoming episode throughout the video.
In the clip above, we can see Sabrina sporting her white bob hinting this will take place after the events of season 1. This does make us question whether Harvey, Roz, and Susie will be the unwelcome visitors. They are expected to appear and it would be surprising if the three didn’t attempt to celebrate the holiday season with their friend.
The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina cast is also expected to return for the episode. Showrunner and creator, Roberto Aguirre Sacasa, teased “A Midwinter’s Tale” on his Twitter with a Happy Solstice card from the characters.
