Jane the Virgin creator says the fifth and final season will be some of the best work they’ve done yet!

Jane the Virgin is will air its final season in 2019 and the series creator, Jennie Snyder, promises that the upcoming final season has some of their best work yet. In fact, she said fans will be satisfied at how the story ends, which is saying a lot given how much fans love and adore this series.

At the Vulture Festival in Los Angeles, Snyder said they are very proud of the episodes and everything has worked out according to the plan she’s always had for Jane the Virgin. According to Deadline, Snyder pitched the ending when she originally pitched the series, and they have taken that path while working on season 5.

The final season of Jane the Virgin will continue to focus on Jane Villanueva and according to Snyder will likely air in March on Wednesday nights–and even more exciting? No breaks in between!

The co-executive producer Valentina Garza said that season 5 will be “so good” and if you are a long-time fan, you should prepare yourself for all the feels. As if the series didn’t already give us all the feels anyway, right?

The Jane the Virgin writers’ room consists of mostly female writers and actor Jaime Camil, who plays Rogelio de la Vega said that having a female-centric writers’ room created a safe space for everyone, and made it easier to tackle the breast cancer story which was based on Garza’s real-life experience.

Garza went on to add that this provides a means to be extremely open about conversations which include topics about sex without hesitation or doubt. In fact, even Alba’s storyline about being undocumented resonates with one of the writers on the show who was an undocumented student himself.

There is so much to love, cherish, and adore about Jane the Virgin, and as we head into the final season, we can’t wait to see what it’s in store for us, even though we are so not ready for it to end.
