HBO has released a first look at season 2 of the comedy Barry starring Bill Hader and Henry Winkler.

Barry centers on Hader’s title character — a hitman whose disenchantment with his job leads him to join an acting class taught by the idiosyncratic Winkler. In acting, Barry finds a passion like nothing he’s known before, but his past keeps coming back to haunt him.

The trailer for the new season will continue Barry’s story as he takes up a “normal” job as a salesman at a sporting goods store and continues to pursue acting. Yet, his talent for offing people leads old enemies and allies to seek him out.

The show looks as dark and funny as ever. The strange ensemble of characters with very different goals still sparks and Barry is still attempting to work out his issues through his acting.

Check out the trailer below:

Barry was adored by both critics and audiences alike when it came out last year. Hader and Winkler earned Emmy Awards for their performances. It was an especially sweet victory for Winkler because it was his first Emmy after decades working as a TV actor.

The new season will premiere on HBO on March 31 at 10 pm. Like season 1, the new season will consist of 8 half-hour episodes.

In addition, to the trailer, HBO released new poster art for the upcoming season that plays up the titular character’s dual identities as a hitman and theater actor. The tag line: “A killer second act.”
