DC Universe’s Titans: Ravager casting completes Wilson family for season 2
By Monita Mohan
Another member of the Wilson family will be joining DC Universe’s Titans in season 2. Disney Channel star Chelsea T. Zhang has been cast as Ravager.
And Ravager makes three! DC Universe has cast a third member of Slade Wilson’s family for season two of Titans – this time it’s his daughter, Rose Wilson. The Andi Mack actor Chelsea T. Zhang will be taking on the role of the deadly assassin Ravager. The character bio shared by Deadline describes Rose as:
"“Daughter of the deadly assassin, Deathstroke, Rose Wilson was forced to undergo the same procedure that granted her father nearly superhuman abilities, becoming a weapon known as Ravager. Ever resentful, she seeks out the Titans not only for their protection but to get back at her father. Knowing how dangerous it is to be the offspring of their deadliest foe, the Titans take her in but that doesn’t necessarily mean they trust her.”"
Zhang will join Esai Morales, who DC Universe announced will be playing Slade Wilson/ Deathstroke, as well as YouTube star and activist Chella Man, who steps into the shoes of Joseph Wilson/ Jericho. While Jericho’s arc will see him become a welcome member of the Titans, it seems that Ravager will have to earn her place on the team as well as the trust of her fellow heroes.

Now that the main members of the Wilson family have been cast, it seems like the Titans showrunners are doing a splendid job of diversifying its on-screen line-up. Not only are the Wilsons a mixed-race family, but Chella Man is also a trans and deaf activist, adding much-needed representation to comic book properties. Man becomes just the second transgender actor to don the mantle of a superhero, following in the footsteps of Nicole Maines, who currently stars as Nia Nal/ Dreamer on Supergirl. Asian-origin superheroes are still a rarity on-screen, though the most recent episode of Doom Patrol gave viewers a welcome, albeit brief, addition of an Indian-origin superhero. Look like the DC Universe executives will not be cowed by the early vitriol by some corners of the fandom.
Titans season 2 is already chock-a-block with new and returning characters, but the story arc from season one still has to be completed. How will all these new characters get their due? We could see more spotlight episodes like ‘Hawk and Dove’ and ‘Hank and Dawn’ from the first season, which could provide valuable screen time for Morales, Zhang, and Man, as well as Joshua Orpin’s Superboy.
