New jobs and old flames, does life in The Chi ever give someone an easy choice?

Of course, Emmett’s mother is going to want more time with her grandbaby. However, Jada (Yolanda Ross) does not plan on changing diapers, just spoiling. She changed enough diapers and still has to if the nursing job calls for it. She has to take any job she can get after pilfering those drugs from the hospital.

It’s not like she can depend on a man to take care of her, and her kid with a kid. Emmett will need help if he gets custody because he will also need a job. Pushing brooms and doing odd job hustles will only buy so many supplies for a child.

Brandon (Jason Mitchell) has all the supplies, knowledge and tools needed to succeed. He needs to stop cooking in other men’s kitchens, in more ways than one. He is obviously a talented chef, but his focus on side hustles and revenge got him off track at work and at home.

Now Brandon has his food truck and has taken a chance on himself that requires his full investment. The grief was hard, moving forward is even harder. Brandon only made things harder on himself by focusing on the anger in losing a loved one and sleeping with his boss.

Jerrika (Tiffany Boone) is an exceptional example of a well rounded, put together, professional woman. No one blames her for going get hers when Emmett was being far past unreasonable, and unfaithful.

Ronnie (Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine) is far from well, mentally and physically. He took a literal bullet to the abdomen, and a figurative shot to the heart when he realized his fatal mistake. Now he is in prison, with plenty of time for introspection, reflection, and change.

How long can Detective Cruz (Armando Riesco) let his moral compass be the measure of justice? He must eventually file some reports on all that he knows about the multiple crimes he is aware of, but will he mention his indiscretions?
