Veronica Mars character refresher: Who’s returning to Neptune for the revival?

Wallace Fennel
Hopefully by now, Wallace has graduated from the JV coach of the Neptune High basketball team to the varsity one. Known as Veronica’s best friend and most loyal partner, Wallace has been by her side through everything. The two attended Hearst college together (until Veronica transferred sometime between season 3 and the movie) where they maintained their close friendship. Throughout the show, his presence was mainly to be an average teenager compared to Veronica’s hectic life but to also help get any files from the school thanks to his squeaky clean image.
We’re not anticipating the revival to spend too much time with Wallace because they’re adults not and it’s not like he can break the rules without consequences nowadays. Yet, he’s still working in Neptune and the trailers revealed he has a wife and child so Veronica is bound to head over to his house for some laidback fun.
Veronica Mars — “Heads You Lose” – Episode 404 — Convinced the bomber is still at large, Veronica visits Chino to learn more about Clyde and Big Dick. Mayor Dobbins’ request for help from the FBI brings an old flame to Neptune. Veronica confronts her mugger. Eli ‘Weevil’ Navarro (Francis Capra), shown. (Photo by: Michael Desmond/Hulu)
Eli “Weevil” Navarro
Weevil’s arc is probably one of the more tragic throughout the run of Veronica Mars. The series has never strayed away from showing the ugly side of class warfare, and unfortunately he suffers the most compared to the other characters. After getting out on parole in seaosn 3, Weevil manages to hold down a job as a janitor that Veronica gets him while also helping with her investigations. It is implied that he’s considering breaking the law again but in the film, we get to see that Weevil has gone straight.
He married a woman named Jade and the two had a daughter named Valentina. Instead of returning to the PCHers, he opened his own auto body shop and seems generally successful. Unfortuntely, in the movie he stops to help Celeste Kane who is her usual awful self. He scares away the bikers harrassing her but she shoots him anyways. In the final moments, we see that Weevil returns to his gang and gets back on the bike after giving up that life.
