The Handmaid’s Tale: Blessed be the fruit, we’re getting another season!

Under Hulu’s eye, The Handmaid’s Tale has been renewed for season 4!
The Handmaid’s Tale will live to see another season, despite it being in sort of a rut as far as story and plot go. Entertainment Weekly revealed that during Hulu’s TCA panel on Friday, it was announced that we would be getting more of June’s story as she works to fight the resistance and the horrible rulers of Gilead.
Although, I’m hoping that The Handmaid’s Tale begins to shift away from the whole resistance storyline and sees some progress as June begins to succeed. That’s the story I’m anxiously waiting for and now that we’re getting another season, I’m hoping that is what the series will focus on.
As of right now, Hulu has not announced a premiere date for the fourth season, which makes sense because we are still getting through the third season which has primarily been about June trying to figure out a way to fight the system by taking on various tasks. I’m not sure how the season will end, but I’m hoping it’s something that takes her out of Gilead.
I think we’ve been tortured enough and I don’t think I can handle another season of gloomy, morbid Gilead as June tries to wrangle her way out of the tight grip this world has on her. I would love to see her reunite with Hannah, go to Canada and reunite with her family and friends, and, of course, with Nichole. That is the ideal case for a season 3 finale, but then again that doesn’t leave much room for the story in season 4.

For those who have not seen The Handmaid’s Tale, it’s a series about a dystopian society where women are stripped of all their rights and essentially placed into a caste system of sorts. One of the “groups” are the Handmaids whose primary purpose is to reproduce for this world. Yah, it’s pretty intense, but I won’t lie when I say there have been some pretty amazing episodes during the three seasons.
