Netflix dropped a new trailer for El Camino: A Breaking Bad movie during the Emmy’s. It picks up soon after the Breaking Bad finale. We’ve got the details!

Netflix dropped a trailer for El Camino: A Breaking Bad movie during the 71st Primetime Emmy’s. You can watch that trailer here. There weren’t any proper scenes or any real hints into the plot of the movie. Instead, the camera slowly pans up on a parked El Camino in a desolate-looking area. It’s night. There’s some foliage. This could be the Tohajiilee Navajo Indian Reservation where Walt (Brian Cranston) and Jesse (Aaron Paul) did their first meth cook in Breaking Bad. It’s also where Hank (Dean Norris) and Steve Gomez (Steven Michael Quezada) were killed by white supremacists in the final season.

But, the El Camino could be a little outside of the New Mexico setting that fans came to know and love. As the camera continues to gain on the El Camino, we can make out Jesse’s profile lit in sparks as he lights up a cigarette. Jesse has to search for the news channel. When he finally lands on it, the report being read is familiar. It describes the gunfight from the Breaking Bad series finale. As the gory details are recounted (nine dead, many shot multiple times, a remote-controlled machine gun used), the camera pans into the cab of the El Camino.

Jesse is wearing a leather jacket and his hair is buzz cut. He’s had some time to clean up after his escape from the prison-lab. But the details of the report are getting to him. We can hear Jesse’s heavy, tense breathing. His eyes are wide and watery. There are two slash scars across his left cheek. Jesse has been through some stuff. He looks like he’s about to go through more.

According to IMDb, the only other cast members reprising their roles besides Aaron Paul are Matt Jones as Badger and Charles Baker as Skinny Pete. But, a recent report from the AV Club quotes Jonathan Banks as saying he will return as Mike Ehrmantraut in some fashion. The AV Club also refers to a possible cast list that may have included Krysten Ritter returning as Jane Margolis.

Since Mike and Jane are dead in the Breaking Bad universe, they will either be returning in flashbacks or possibly as figments of Jesse’s mind. The name of the movie is El Camino. Maybe Jesse spends a lot of time in it paralyzed with fear. Mike and Jane could manifest themselves in the passenger seat. If Andrea (Emily Rios) shows up, I’ll lose it.

Written and directed by series creator Vince Gilligan, El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie is set to stream exclusively on Netflix starting on Friday, October 11.
