9-1-1 answers the question that is on everyone’s mind–did Christopher survive?

9-1-1 had us basically freaking out throughout this entire episode. Christoper’s fate was in question after last week’s brutal tsunami episode during which he floated away from Buck’s grasp. It was heartbreaking, emotional, and devastating, and 9-1-1 was cruel to us until the very end of the episode.

The aftermath of the tsunami wasn’t a pleasant one, and with the entire city in shambles, the first responders were doing everything they could to rescue those in need. As the episode began, we see Buck looking for Christopher and stumbling across his glasses in the water. For a moment, it appears that he may have found him, but it was a sad false alarm. He did, however, get some direction from a surfer that said he saw someone matching Christopher’s description.

Buck stumbles across Maddie and Chimney’s hospital in hopes of finding Christopher, but he has no such luck. At this point, all of us were assuming the worst. To make matters worse, Eddie spots Buck walking around and learns that he’s lost Christopher. Luckily for us, the moment is fleeting as Eddie sees Christoper in a woman’s arms (a woman we catch a glimpse of earlier in the episode!).

So, yes, Christoper is alive and well, and Eddie and Buck are still friends. In fact, Eddie lets Buck babysit Christoper again because he knows there isn’t anyone else his son is safer with. Cue the awws.

A lot of this 9-1-1 episode focused on the rescue efforts throughout the city, mainly Santa Monica Pier. We even get to spend more time with Rhonda Rousey’s character who is a first responder at a different station. I don’t know about all of you, but I think I saw some sparks flying between her and Eddie. Just saying–it’s a love story we should be on the lookout for.

I’m sure you all remember the giant Ferris wheel that was bombarded pretty hard by the tsunami waves. Well, on this Ferris wheel was a couple that was on the verge of signing their divorce papers and just enjoying one final moment together. It wasn’t nice as they had hoped, but it does make them realize in the end that being apart is the right thing for them. Nothing like a natural disaster to put things into perspective.

The craziest part of the episode comes after Maddie uses a girl’s drone to figure out that an apartment complex has been the victim of carbon monoxide poisoning. Our team shows up to save the day and whisks the survivors away right before the entire area goes up in flames.
