Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch will be headlining the newest Arrowverse show as Superman and Lois Lane juggle work and family.
Superman hasn’t had a solo venture in several years now, be it on the big or small screen. Fans have been wishing that the Arrowverse would finally fill that gap. Now those wishes have finally come true. The CW has announced that a Superman and Lois Lane show starring Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch is now in development.
Superman and Lois sounds very different from the other Arrowverse shows – it follows the world-famous superhero and journalist couple as they navigate life as working parents. The current ‘Rebirth’ arc in DC Comics features the first couple of the DC universe as the parents of young Jon Kent.
Hoechlin’s Superman was first introduced on Supergirl in the second season of the show, and he immediately became a fan-favorite. Tulloch made her debut as the comic world’s most renowned journalist during the finale of ‘Elseworlds’. The pair made for a believable and relatable couple.

The best part of Hoechlin’s Superman was that he didn’t attempt to steal the spotlight away from Supergirl. The last we saw of the character, he left National City and Earth under Supergirl’s protection in the ‘Elseworlds’ finale, so that he and Lois could start a family on the Kryptonian moon Argo.
Considering that The CW’s roster will be down two mainstays – Arrow and Supernatural – it’s no wonder that executives are looking to fill those slots. An Arrow spin-off has already been announced featuring the all-female team of the Canaries and now we have Superman and Lois.
One can only hope that this show is an expansion of the Arrowverse and it doesn’t mean that any of the current shows will meet an untimely demise.
According to Deadline, Superman and Lois is being developed as a stand-alone pilot, much like Supergirl. In fact, several of the other Arrowverse shows began their lives on other shows.
There is no news yet on when the pilot will air, nor any announcements about additional cast members. It will be interesting to see these characters step into the human boots of being working parents.
Are you excited for Superman and Lois? What are you looking forward to seeing in this show?
