Doctor Who season 12 to premiere in early 2020

Whovians, are you ready for the new Doctor Who season 12 trailer?
Doctor Who is getting ready for its next season (thank goodness!), with the release of a new trailer, according to Deadline. If you haven’t seen the trailer yet, then prepare yourself for one hell of a season filled with a lot of aliens.
I’m so incredibly excited about what Jodie Whittaker’s second season has in store for us. If her first season as the female Doctor ever is any indication, then I think we’re in for a treat. The trailer shows us a quick 1-minute glimpse into the adventures of the Doctor and her motley crew of companions.
But the trailer also reveals that there are two new additions to the cast this year: Goran Višnjić (Timeless), and Robert Glenister (Paranoid). They join Stephen Fry (The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy) and Lenny Henry (Broadchurch), who were announced some time ago. Aren’t you feeling excited already?!
Along with the Doctor Who trailer, BBC America also announced that the season will return in early 2020. We knew that it would be sometime next year, but at least we know we won’t have to wait until much later in the year.
I, for one, cannot wait for more episodes with our first female Doctor because her first season was incredible, to say the least. We had so many mindblowing episodes (do you all remember, “Rosa”?), and some continue to resonate with us as we try to get through this incredibly long hiatus.

I’m not sure what sorts of shenanigans the Doctor and companions will get into, but I do know one thing. The trailer reveals Cybermen, a war-ridden Paris circa World War II, the Judoon (rhino/human mix), the Racnoss (human/spider mix), and flocks and flocks of birds (eww, no thanks). This assortment of threats is frightening enough, and I’m sure it’s just scratching the surface.
Here’s to hoping we find out the exact premiere date for Doctor Who season 12 soon, because we are so over this long hiatus.
