The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.: Reawakened – December 30

I don’t know much about anime and absolutely nothing about this series, but its apparently one of the most popular series in Japan. And based on the trailer, it’s not hard to see why. The series and its main character are disarmingly, charmingly self-aware and wonderfully funny. Saiki K. has psychic abilities and heads up a cast of sitcom-style over-the-top characters. After bemoaning having to start the series all over again for Netflix, he lists off all the characters and wonders how many “overly unique” people they can possibly squeeze into the show.

Well, at least two more new characters, it seems. All Saiki wants to do is live a normal and relaxed life, but all these crazy characters keep getting in the way. I’m not naturally attracted to anime as a genre and end up really picking and choosing what I spend my time watching, but this just might go on the list just for its sheer charm and humor.
