Tigra & Dazzler: Marvel-Hulu series put on hold after showrunner and writers exit
Marvel’s Tigra & Dazzler series undergoes a major shake-up.
In a surprising move, Erica Rivinoja, the showrunner of Tigra & Dazzler has exited the series. Deadline reports the animated show is still expected to stream on Hulu, however, the writing team has also been fired and production put on hold.
According to the report, there were creative differences between Rivinoja and Hulu, but the streamer has every intention of hiring new writers. Chelsea Handler and Jeph Loeb are both still attached as the executive producers.
Yet, depending on how long this delay is, it will be interesting to see how it affects the other three shows in The Offenders universe. It was announced previously that Tigra & Dazzler would be a part of Hulu’s animated Marvel universe alongside M.O.D.O.K., Howard the Duck, and Hit Monkey.
Tigra & Dazzler would follow the two superheroes as they tried to make their mark in Los Angeles. Described as “woke” and best friends, it sounds like the show was originally going to be a bit of a buddy comedy. Apparently, the two have difficulty gaining recognition when there are so many other people with powers in their city.
One person has thrown their hat into the ring to help the series move along. Tony Isabella, the creator of Tigra’s character, took to Twitter where he offered to help Marvel with any writing woes. While he acknowledged that he didn’t exactly fit the bill of a screenwriter or showrunner, there’s still a chance he could help with any creative concerns for the show.
