7. A Little Late With Lilly Singh (NBC)

This one pains us to include because we had high hopes for A Little Late With Lilly Singh.

The show made history as being the first late-night show to have an openly bisexual woman of color leading the way, and with this being Singh’s show, one would have expected her to bring the same comedic energy that has made her one of the most-viewed YouTube stars of the decade.

That hasn’t been the case and for obvious reasons.

The fact is having a TV writing crew write her material, Singh’s material now comes off as forced and terribly scripted. The jokes are simply not funny and viewers have not been tuning in as much as NBC execs have hoped.

With the resources NBC has poured into A Little Late, this is a bit troubling, and there is a real possibility that, without an improvement, NBC could pull the plug on A Little Late before it has a chance to gain a footing. Granted, Last Call with Carson Daily (the show A Little Late proceeded) trudged on for years in NBC’s late-night basement, but Last Call didn’t nearly have the production budget as A Little Late does.

Again, it’s hard to write as we’re all rooting for A Little Late, but major changes are needed if it wants to avoid the cancellation ax next year.
