13. Dynasty (The CW)

Many critics are now at the point where we’re openly questioning what it will take for a CW series to get canceled.

Nearly all of The CW’s series are rated poorly and we could make a story of itself as to why this network has (so far) been an epic failure. That’s a story for another day, but we’re getting some tingling feelings that The CW may finally begin to trim some dead weight from its primetime scheduled, and one of those shows to go may very well be Dynasty.

The show — a reboot of the famed 1980s primetime soap opera — isn’t bad, but the problem, as with many CW shows, is that it simply doesn’t attract viewers. Currently, Dynasty is sitting at a 0.10 rating in the 18-49 category,  the lowest among its current lineup, which, if aired on another network, would have long met the cancellation ax by now.

This is probably where Dynasty should thank its lucky stars that it’s one The CW as, according to Zap2It’s Cancel Bear, is nearly a lock to get renewed for another season despite ultra-poor ratings. Dynasty feels like a show that should be on Netflix by now, not on network television, but with Supernatural and Arrow currently in their final seasons, The CW needs another show to try to push to the forefront, which is another reason why Dynasty is likely heading for a season renewal.

Then again, The CW may realize that this series is becoming an anchor on their lineup and cut their losses, which would be the wiser thing to do.
