11. Single Parents (ABC)

Two seasons in, and it’s looking more-and-more likely that Single Parents isn’t in ABC’s future plans.

The sitcom, which follows the lives of single parents as they try their hand again at the dating world, is a charming show that ABC doesn’t do its best to really promote. The lack of promotion for Single Parents raises concerns as to whether or not the network will grant the series a third season.

The show’s rating of 0.67 is kind of solid, but Single Parents hasn’t really shown the growth of its other sitcoms. In some respects, Single Parents was given a bad deck from the start, having to compete for viewers with the likes of Modern Family, Black-ish, and The Goldbergs, comedies that have long had its baked-in audience.

Single Parents doesn’t have this luxury, and while the ratings are somewhat solid, it has not been able to expand its viewership base, and now it’s here, potentially on the cusp of getting the cancellation ax.

Television life isn’t fair, but it’s the way the cookie crumbles. We can foresee Single Parents becoming one of those sitcoms where its diehard fans will spam ABC in the hopes of giving the sitcom a third season.
