10. All Rise (CBS)

Ugh, the 2019-2020 television season has just not been kind to freshmen shows, and All Rise is one of them.

In trying to fit in with the network’s other dramas, All Rise has failed to live up to CBS’s expectations. The series follows the cases and lives of those in the Los Angeles judicial system, and when you watch the show, it isn’t unreasonable to think that All Rise is trying very hard to become CBS’s version of Law & Order.

The show itself is an interesting piece of judicial drama, and it’s kind of nice for a show to explore the inner-workings of the judicial system, right on down to the public defenders. However, with stronger dramas on the network, All Rise has found it quite difficult to gain a footing in CBS’s drama lineup.

It has a solid rating among 18-49 year-olds (0.65), but it’s Renew/Cancel index sits at a 0.15, which is by no means nothing to smile at. There is a chance that CBS could have a change of heart and give All Rise a fighting chance (a la, a second season), but the feeling among us is that the network may cut its ties with the series and try to shop it to another network (FOX maybe?).

Come to think of it, that may be the best-case scenario for this underappreciated drama.
