Severance casts another lead!

Britt Lower has officially joined the cast of the upcoming Apple workplace thriller. Deadline reports the actress will star alongside the already cast Adam Scott and Patricia Arquette. Severance is set to be both directed and executive produced by Ben Stiller, who also directed and executive produced the critically acclaimed Escape at Dannemora.

Severance centers around Lumen Industries, who performs a procedure on people called “severance”. Essentially, this is supposed to help the “work-life balance” by separating memories that are from work and the ones from “out of work”. Dan Erickson both wrote and created the series, and his original script actually made the Bloodlist in 2016. He is also set to executive produce with Stiller and Chris Black, Nicky Weinstock, and Jackie Cohn.

Lower’s character, Helly, went through with the procedure but seems to be having second thoughts after the fact. According to the description, she will “struggle to find peace” regarding her choice.

Arquette’s character is the boss at Lumen while Scott plays Mark, an employee at the company who is trying to piece his dark past together. Both Arquette and Scott will also serve as producers on the upcoming show.
