Starz’s Heels: Kelli Berglund joins the cast of wrestling drama
Kelli Berglund joins the ring on Starz’s Heels.
The upcoming wrestling drama has found one of its female leads! According to Deadline, Kelli Berglund has been added to the cast of Heels. She joins the already cast Stephen Amell and Alexander Ludwig.
Heels is focused on telling the story of small-town wrestling within Georgia. Amell and Ludwig play two brothers who, despite being family, find themselves as rivals both in and out of the ring. They have their father’s legacy to contend with and the fact that Ludwig’s character, Ace Spade, gets to play the hero in the ring while Amell’s character, Jack Spade, plays the villain. Apparently, it might get a bit hard for the two to leave their fake battles after they go home, which hints at some family drama.
Meanwhile, Kelli Berglund will a young twenty-year-old named Crystal. She’s a wrestler’s valet with big ambitions, specifically, that she wants to get in the ring herself. Her character description makes it clear that Crystal is willing to do anything for the opportunity to prove herself. She’s a gifted athlete, but unfortunately, she needs to earn a living which has prevented her from following her dreams completely.
Berglund is well known for her role on Now Apocalypse, the critically acclaimed Starz series, and a recurring character on Fosse/Verdon. Her next two films coming out are Cherry (with Tom Holland) and the Netflix movie, Hubie Halloween.
There is currently no expected release date for Heels at this time.
