Netflix announces cast for Midnight Mass with Zach Gilford, Kate Siegel, and Hamish Linklater starring

Netflix’s upcoming horror series Midnight Mass has announced its main cast, starring Zach Gilford, Kate Siegel, and Hamish Linklater among others.

Netflix’s Midnight Mass, from The Haunting of Hill House creators Mike Flanagan and Trevor Macy, has announced its main cast line up. Zach Gilford (L.A.’s Finest), Kate Siegel (The Haunting of Hill House), and Hamish Linklater (The Big Short) will star alongside Annabeth Gish (The X-files), Michael Trucco (Hush), Samantha Sloyan (Hush), Henry Thomas (The Haunting of Hill House), Rahul Abburi (Killer Ransom), Crystal Balint (The Bletchley Circle: San Francisco), Matt Biedel (Altered Carbon), Alex Essoe (The Haunting of Bly Manor), Rahul Kohli (Supergirl), Kristin Lehman (The Chronicles of Riddick), Robert Longstreet (Doctor Sleep), Igby Rigney (Blue Bloods), and Annarah Shephard.

While the synopsis is rather vague, the description strikes a mysterious tone and promises both miraculous events and frightening omens when a charismatic priest comes to visit a small island community. The series’ cast looks to be populated with many of Flanagan and Macy’s frequent collaborators, with faces from The Haunting of Hill House, Doctor Sleep, Hush, and the upcoming The Haunting of Bly Manor all represented.

Midnight Mass is part of an overall deal made between Netflix and the creative team’s Intrepid Pictures as the streaming service begins to branch out into the horror genre. Flanagan and Macy have collaborated on several horror titles together, including Oculus, Gerald,’s Game, Hush, and most recently Doctor Sleep.

With the success of The Haunting of Hill House, Netflix signed a deal with Flanagan and Macy, calling for a follow-up entitled The Haunting of Bly Manor along with the horror series Midnight Mass. Considering the quality of The Haunting of Hill House and Intrepid Pictures’ other horror productions, I am incredibly excited to see what this new horror revival has in store.
