Turner & Hooch: Josh Peck to star in upcoming Disney+ series
Turner & Hooch finds its lead with Josh Peck!
The upcoming Disney+ adaptation has started assembling its cast. According to Deadline, Turner & Hooch has found half of its namesake with Josh Peck. The show is based on the Tom Hanks film from 1989, with Peck taking on the role that Hanks originally had.
Turner & Hooch will revolve around Scott Turner, a US Marshall, with high ambitions and a strict code who winds up getting a new pet. In the original movie, Turner is actually a police detective, but the television show decided to make the change in position. There is no word yet what dog will be taking on the role of Hooch for the series.
Josh Peck has had a long acting career. He’ll always infamously be known for his hit Nickelodeon show, Drake & Josh, however, he’s branched out since then. He co-starred in the underrated FOX sitcom, Grandfathered, with John Stamos and the Netflix film, Take the 10.
Mike Nix is set as the executive producer and writer for the upcoming series, with Josh Levy also on board as an executive producer. This is the second attempt to turn the beloved film into a movie, however, the ABC pilot never made it to series despite the pilot being made available later on.
There is no word yet when the series will debut or when the rest of the cast will be announced. It currently has a twelve-episode order to stream on Disney+.
