The Chair: Netflix dramedy series adds Sandra Oh and Jay Duplass
The Chair is the next dramedy heading to Netflix!
Killing Eve‘s Sandra Oh is taking a break from the thrilling cat and mouse chase for her next project. Deadline reports that the streaming service has ordered, The Chair, a six-episode series with a lot of big names involved.
Oh is not only set to star but she will also serve as an executive producer, alongside Amanda Peet, David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, and Bernie Caufield. Peet is the creator of The Chair, and she will also be the showrunner in the first season. Meanwhile, Benioff and Weiss will bring a lot of scrutiny to the project after the final season of Game of Thrones was met with so much criticism.
Sandra Oh has become well known for her critically acclaimed role on Killing Eve. However, fans will also recognize her from her time on ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy as fan-favorite Dr. Cristina Yang. The Chair has also set Jay Duplass as her costar, who is most infamously known for his role on Amazon’s Transparent. Jay Duplass, along with his brother Mark, also created the series Togetherness which Amanda Peet was in.
Amanda Peet has built up quite the acting resume as well. She had a role in Amazon’s The Romanoffs, USA’s Dirty John: The Betty Broderick Story, and Brockmire.
There is currently no premiere date set for The Chair.
