Y: The Last Man finds its Yorick!

Not too long ago it seemed like FX’s adaptation of Y: The Last Man might have been doomed, but there’s some good news for fans. Deadline reports Ben Schnetzer has joined the series as the main character, Yorick Brown.

Originally, Barry Keoghan was set to play the character, however, he recently exited the project. Y: The Last Man also lost its showrunner in the spring, but it’s set to finally begin production in April with a new writer after Aida Mashaka Croal and Michael Green left. Eliza Clark has taken over with Melina Matsoukas set to direct the pilot episode.

The show is based on the wildly popular comic book series from Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra and has been in high demand for an adaptation. It revolves around Yorick Brown, the last man on Earth, after an event kills off all of the other men. Naturally, as the world adapts the change, Yorick finds himself in danger.

Diane Lane will play Yorick’s mother, with Imogen Poots, Lashana Lynch, Marin Ireland, Amber Tamblyn, and Juliana Canfield have already been cast as well. This is Ben Schnetzer’s first television role however he has been in quite a few films like SnowdenSaint Judy, and The Grizzlies.
