Light as a Feather season 2, episode 15 recap: …Quiet as a Tomb
By Wade Wainio
In episode 215 of Hulu’s Light as a Feather, Trey and the others face off against Peri, whose quest for revenge still carries its own secrets.
As episode 215 of Light as a Feather begins (catch up on the previous episode with a quick refresher), McKenna “Mack” Brady (Liana Liberato)is no longer possessed and her entourage is at the Abbott house. They conclude that butterflies are the mark of the curse.
Based on what Reverend Fahey (John O’Brien) told them, Margaret Abbott (Kayla DiVenere) originally played the game. When snooping around in her room, they see a black monarch butterfly on a dollhouse. They open the house to find a strange VHS tape.
Unfortunately, the tape gets eaten, and the Light as a Feather characters are too young to know how to repair the tape. Thankfully, they still have a place to turn: The sketchbook of the apparently deceased Isaac (Brent Rivera), which has pictures of a graveyard.
Trey (Jordan Rodrigues) recalls seeing a tombstone near the Abbott farm. Interestingly, Margaret had a twin, much like Mack had Jennie. It’s believed they must find Margaret’s remains. When they return to Reverend Fahey’s, they find him dead. It doesn’t slow them down much, though. Trey finds a key with the number “80” on it and they go to the church basement.
Tensions mount
Trey takes Sammi’s (Katelyn Nacon) van back to the Abbot’s, kissing Mack before heading out (rekindling their on-again/off-again romance?). However, Mack has the Chrysalis curse bad. In fact, she asks Violet (Haley Ramm) to kill her again. Much like last time, she awkwardly asks it with no other witnesses present — meaning that, were Violet to go through with it, she’d have an even harder time avoiding a murder charge.
Anyway, Alex (Brianne Tju) quickly goes online to see a news article about Peri’s (Adriyan Rae) release due to Sylvia’s (Brea Bee) confession. Although Mack can sense that Margaret’s in an urn they find, they know Peri will be coming for them. Sure enough, she shows up!
Peri vs. Trey
Light as a Feather has transformed characters from villains to heroes and vice versa. Peri’s the latest example. When Trey enters the Abbott’s barn looking for grave digging tools, Peri appears, threatening him with a pitchfork. Although he literally sweeps her off her feet with a broom, she rebounds and stabs the pitchfork into his shoulder! Still, Trey’s curse involves being crushed, so we know he’s not likely dead just yet.
When Trey’s pals show up, Peri hides, then closes the barn doors to trap them. She then calls Alex, making her decide between helping Mack dig the grave or saving the others in the barn from an unstated danger. Alex chooses the barn, leaving Peri free to take the urn away from the sickly Mack!
